CBSE will discharge the application form of JEE Main 2018 probably in the principal seven day stretch of December 2017 in online mode. Before filling the JEE Main 2018 application form, the candidates must keep prepared with them their checked photo, mark and thumb impression which they need to transfer while filling in the online application form. Aside from filling the individual and scholarly points of interest, the candidates need to pay the application fee for JEE Main 2018 in disconnected and online mode.It's that time once more! For all the aspiring engineers out there, this article is not to demoralise you about one of the world’s toughest exams, or to divulge a secret backdoor into the IITs and NITs. This article is a simple breaker of the myth that is the JEE Mains.

The main objective of the JEE Mains, and in fact, any other engineering entrance exam, is not primarily to judge the theoretical knowledge you have, but about how you implement the same knowledge when faced with a quantifiable problem.

So, the first step is problem solving. It would be advisable to invest time and energy in solving problems pertaining to a new chapter you’ve studied than look up more theoretical references elsewhere. Numerical problems, chemical equations and other logically solvable questions are to be prioritised over long questions and essay types.

The second step, is the memory game. Studying and completing the JEE Mains syllabus is not half as challenging as actually remembering the important concepts and having the presence of mind to implement the same once faced with a problem. Quite often, we see that the candidate might be well aware of the procedure, but fails to perform the solution. My advice, practise. As they say, there is nothing known as ‘too much practise’.

The third step, is rationality. Every student has a liking and a disliking. Someone loves mathematics, but dislikes physics. Someone loves empirical chemistry but dislikes organic. Well, that’s just not an excuse. We cannot afford to be preferential. Although it would be impossible to master all subjects and all sub-topics equally, it would be advisable to be well versed in all of them.

The JEE Mains, being without a doubt among the most important dates in the life of a student interested in the field of engineering, is rather a test of perseverance and tenacity. Where the results depend not only upon your performance on the day of the exam, but upon your long hours that have gone into the preparation.
